Seminar on “Human Rights and Accountability in Myanmar”

Today 26th March 2024 Stockholm-Sweden A Seminar Organized by Swedish Burma Committee and Human Rights Watch in Medelhavsmuseet in Stockholm. During Q&A session I was able to ask the question and raise the issue of

1. Rohingya Crisis. My main focus was current humanitarian crisis faced by Rohingya people, including those found floating on the sea in Aceh, Indonesia andfleeing persecution in Myanmar.

2. Rohingya being used as human shields amid the conflict between the Arakan Army and Myanmar military, along with the severe humanitarian conditions inside Arakan, including food shortages and lack of healthcare access.

3. Regarding the safety and security of Rohingya refugee camps in Bangladesh, coupled with the denial of education for Rohingya children.Majority of participant in the seminar were from Swedish Ministry of foreign affair, Swedish International Development Agency and members of different Human Rights and Civil Society Organization. In the end of seminar I personaly met with Mr. Tom Andrews, Special Rapporteur on the Situation of Human Rights in MyanmarMr. Måns Molander Nordic Director of Human Rights WatchMs. kristina Jelmin, Executive Director, The Swedish Burma Committee Mr. Lapain Maw Tun Awng, Deputy Minister in the National Unity Government(NUG)
